Define the use of quartz crystal method to detect ultrasonic waves.
Quartz crystal method:
This method is based onto the principle of Piezo-electric effect. While one pair of the opposite faces of a quartz crystal is representation to the ultrasonic waves, other pairs of opposite faces expanded opposite charges. Such charges are amplified and detected by using an electronic circuit.
Energy is transferred in a one direction only. Example : Wave propagating in a stretched string.
