Define Protein Requirements during Sepsis?
Adequate amount of protein is required by these patients to improve immunity against infections, promote recovery, spare lean body mass and reduce the amount of endogenous protein catabolism for glyconeogenesis. The requirements may vary from 0.8 gm to 2.0 gm per kg usual body weight per day.
