Define about the Polyphenols?

We now come to a group of compounds, which were until recently considered to adversely influence nutrient absorption or giving colour to foods e.g. anthocyanins. Today they are among the most popular and commonly consumed nutraceuticals. More than 4000 phenolic phytochemicals have been identified so far including tocopherols and tocotrienols. They are ubiquitous in all plant organs and therefore are an integral part of the human diet.
