Define Factors that Affecting the BMR?

Basal metabolic rate, we know, is the largest component of the daily energy demand representing 45 to 70 percent of daily total energy expenditure. It is highly variable and the causes of this variation include factors such as fat free mass (FFM), fat mass (FM), age, sex, hormonal status, growth, disease/infections etc. Let us learn about these factors starting with body size and composition.
