Assignment Help:

Task 1

Think about a Web site you would like to work on for Assignment 2. For example, you can do a personal interest site, a site for your favourite nonprofit organization, or a work related site. Create a one to two page HTML document stating the basic elements you will include in your Web site. You will need to show this document to your demonstrator.

Address the following: (consult your lecture notes and/or

  1. Rationale or focus - explain the goals of the site
  2. Information analysis - identify major information objects
  3. User analysis

- describe major user groups and their needs

  1. Main elements outline - describe the functionality necessary to satisfy users' needs
  2. Content - estimate the number of main 'entry pages' (those will have to be prototyped in Assignment 2)

REMEMBER: you must be specific and focused on THE site (general considerations are not going to attract marks neither now nor in Assignment 2)

Task 2

Browse the Web for examples of sites similar to the one you described in Task 1. Find one example of the design you think is good - right down a few good points - and one example when, in your opinion, some improvement would help - right down a few bad points about the site. Have the sites bookmarked and your notes handy when presenting to a demonstrator.
