Conventional Current:

Earlier scientists had no knowledge of the concept of electron, so the developed the convention, still in use, , that the direction of current is for appositively charge body to a negatively charged body, This current is known as conventional current, where as the actual flow of current is the motion of electrons from the negative terminal to the positive terminal.
