The manufacturer of the product is finding that, in order to stay competitive, a number of things need to happen:

Components of the product need to be made from more sustainable materials
Less energy must be used in the product's transport, manufacture and operation
Attention must be paid to the what happens at the end of the product's useful life
Overall cost must be reduced (so that price may be lowered) without compromising performance.

The manufacturer has decided to review the manufacture of the product and is looking for specific recommendations that will achieve these things.
