Define Cleanliness of Surface - Limitations of Ultrasonic System?

Sound energy transmission is greatly affected by marine growth on the surface of the concrete element. Ultrasonics requires a clean bare surface for accurate results. There- fore, concrete surface should be thoroughly cleaned before per- forming the test.
