The hormones that promote the release of the ovum from the follicle are LH and FSH, hormones found in maximum blood concentration around the 14th day of the cycle. The release of the female gamete from the ovary is called ovulation and the Ovulation happens at (around) the 14th day of the menstrual cycle.
