Benzaldehyde - Aldehydes and Ketones

Benzaldehyde is simple aromatic aldehyde. It occurs in bitter almonds in the type of its glucoside, amygdalin (C20H27O11N). While amygdalin is boiled along with dilute acids, it hydrolyses goes off into benzaldehyde, glucose and HCN.

Benzaldehyde is as well defined as oil of bitter almonds.
