Q. What is signifying when it is said that a bacteria is an obligate anaerobe?

Obligate anaerobes are those living beings that do not survive in the presence of oxygen. For example, agent of tetanus, the bacteria Clostridium tetani, is an obligate anaerobe.

In external wounds, it is common to use hydrogen peroxide to expose anaerobic microorganisms to oxygen and kill them.
