Axis perpendicular to the vertical plane - square prism, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Axis Perpendicular to the Vertical Plane - square prism:

Here a square prism, side of base 40 millimeter and axis 60 millimeter long is resting on the HP on its base along with one edge inclined at 30o to the VP. Draw its projections.

Solution

Construction procedure is given as:

(a)   Draw a line at 30o to xy and draw the plan that is a square of 40 millimeter side and mark corners like a, b, c and d.

b) Project the point a, b, c and d upon the reference line xy meeting it at a′, b′, c′ and d′.

(c) Sketch the axis and mark 60 millimeter from xy along the axis or like height of prism.

(d) Sketch a horizontal line parallel to xy and 60 millimeter from it.

(e) Sketch projectors from a, b, c and d and mark 1′, 2′, 3′ and 4′ upon it.

(f) Connect 1′ a′, 2′ b′, 3′ c′ and 4′ d′ as dotted line to complete the elevation.

(g) Darken the optical edges in the elevation.
