Analog-to-Digital (A/D) Converters
An A/D converter converts analog input signals into digital output data in many areas such as process control, aircraft control, and telemetry. Being the interface between analog systems and digital systems, it plays a key role in many industrial, commercial, and military systems. Several types of A/D converters exist: counter-controlled, successive-approximation, and dual-ramp (dual-slope) converters. One should understand its basic operation because analog comparators formthe basis of A/D converters. Figure shows the block diagramof an analog comparator. The commercially available LM311 is an example that is widely used by designers.
Q. A 75-kVA transformer has an iron loss of 1 kW and a full-load copper loss of 1 kW. If the transformer operates on the following load cycle, determine the all-day efficiency:
Usage: Because of the above inherent drawbacks, fixed bias is seldom used in linear circuits (that is those circuits which use the transistor like a current source). Instead,
Norton's theorem procedure: 1. Remove R L from the circuit. Search I N by shorting links output terminal. 2. Search R N by short-circuit voltage source or open-circuit
There is a limitation on the size of data. Most Microprocessor does not maintain floating-point operations.
Diode Circuits: Prob. (a) Draw the piecewise linear volt ampere characteristic of a p n diode. What are the circuit models for the ON state and the OFF state. (b) Determ
Give the applications of PVC. PVC- It is acquired from polymerisation of hydrogen chloride and acetylene in the presence of a catalyst as peroxides at about 50 0 C. It is e
Low Pressure Gas Hazards : Safety screens and wire-mesh guards should be placed round evacuated glassware and safety goggles or a face shield must be worn against the possibility
Q. What is inter digit time? Break time is nominally 61 ms and make time is nominally 39ms. Digits are separated by idle period of 300 ms known as inter digit time. It is vital
What is segmentation? Segment memory addressing divides the memory in several segments. All of these segments can be seen as a linear memory space. All of these segments are ad
