You mix together the following three solutions (the order of mixing doesn't matter):
100.0 mL 0.100 M Na2SO4, 50.0 mL 0.300 M ZnCl2, 100.0 mL 0.200 M Ba(CN)2
Of all the possible salts that can form from these cations and anions, only two are insoluble: zinc cyanide and barium sulfate. Thus, both of those salts will precipitate out of solution. Calculate the molarity of each ion remaining in the solution following complete precipitation of these two insoluble compounds. Note: Some of the ions will have been completely consumed by the precipitation reactions; thus their concentrations will be effectively zero.
A certain reaction releases 10.1 kJ at constant volume and at constant pressure releases 8.4 kJ. What is the (delta)U for the reaction?
a sample of gas has a mass of 38.8 mg. it's volume is 224 mL at a temperature of 55 degrees C and a pressure of 886 torr. Find the molar mass of the gas.
Compute why you must have a liquid flowing back through the fractionating column in order to get the separation of the components during fractional distillation
a 26.0-g sample of ice at -11.0degc is mixed with 123.0 g of water at 90.0degc. calculate the final temperature of the
A solution of L-alanine (400 ml) is brought to pH 8 and treated with excess formaldehyde. The solution now requires 250 ml of 0.2M NaOH to titrate it back to pH 8. How many grams of L-alanine did the original solution contain
Calculate the potential developed by a voltaic cell using the following reaction if all dissolved species are 0.025 M: 2 Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (aq) + 2 H+ (aq) ? 2 Fe3+ (aq) + 2 H2O (l)
Calculate the work (in kJ) when 3.00 moles of hydrogen gas are produced from the reaction of sodium in excess water at 298 K:
Sketch a diagram of the conformational states of the enzyme showing the response to NAD+ binding and a mechanism for negative cooperativity.
Write equations for the dissociation of the following in water. Include physical states for all species.CaCl2
Compare and contrast solid-phase DNA synthesis with enzyme-catalyzed DNA synthesis. Please separately describe the similarities and differences between the two.
Consider the following reaction in a closed reaction flask. If 1.50 atm of gas A is allowed to react with 0.500 atm of gas B and the reaction goes to completion at constant temperature and volume, what is the total pressure in the reaction flask a..
