Predicting oil spill evaporation. The Journal of Hazardous Materials (July 1995) presented a literature review of models designed to predict oil spill evaporation. One model discussed in the article used boiling point (x1) and API specific gravity (x2) to predict the molecular weight (y) of the oil that is spilled. A complete second-order model for y was proposed.
