You are the owner of Moxie Antique Autos (12 Fletcher Street, Staten Island). One of your best clients, an extremely wealthy man named Patrick Whelan, has bought 5 rare antique cars from you over the past 3 years. In November 2015, he purchased a 1964 Mustang convertible from you. Last week, Whelan brought the car in for a tune-up; this required him to leave the Mustang at Moxie overnight. You were on vacation, so your garage manager, Drew Kiel, was in charge of the business. After Moxie had closed for the night, one of your mechanics, Scott Mason, decided that it would be fun to take Whelan’s Mustang out for a drive. Mason had keys to the garage, so he was able to get in and get the Mustang. After driving around for an hour or so, Mason decided to see how fast the car could go on the side streets of Staten Island. He ended up crashing into a telephone pole. He was hurt badly, but is expected to survive. The Mustang was totaled. You already spoke with Patrick Whelan in person, apologizing for what happened, but now you need to write a formal letter of apology.
