Another family large family of interesting curves can be useful in graphics. Consider the path traced by a point rigidly attached to a circle as the circle rolls around another fixed circle. These are called trochoids. The tracing point is attached to the rolling circle at the end of a rod k units form the centre. The fixed circle has radius a.
