Write a Case Brief
At this point, you know the facts of the case, the positions of the parties, and the case law supporting the party that you have determined should prevail. It's time to put everything together into a format known as a case brief. Use the example brief to submit a case brief compiling the work from your previous three assignments. You should start with the facts and parties of the case. Then you should state the legal issue at hand.
Following the issue at hand, state why your party should prevail and support your argument with appropriate case law.
Length and format: 4-5 pages (not including Title Page, Table of Contents, and Reference pages), double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, and APA formatting.
The requirements for PART 4 are:
1. Using your arguments and case law from the previous assignments, write a Case Brief supporting either party. The Case Brief should include sections on factual background, case history, parties and issues, arguments and supporting case law. Make sure to incorporate into your Case Brief any feedback received in previous assignment parts.
2. Review the sample case briefs in the Unit 7 Readings and Resources as you prepare your assignment.
