ASSIGNMENT : THE BUSINESS PLAN (Individual)

Part A:

Consists of 250/500 words evidencing the following:

1. Outline of your business idea

2. Rationale for the venture

3. Market segment target/opportunity area

4. Forecast sales revenue and pricing structure

Part B:

This is an individual orolect in which you are required to write a business plan for an opportunity of your choice, which builds on the investigations you have already made in Part A of this project. You will produce no more than 2500 words for this report, plus financial analysis and appendices.

Details:

You are advised to develop your business idea within the opportunity area you have been working on during this course and specifically in Assignment 1.

However, at this stage, your business idea will have clearly developed its own profile, which distinguishes itself from the ideas already developed by your group.

The plan should be presented as if it was being submitted to an external audience such as an investor or bank manager.

Please Note: reports emanating from the same Opportunity Area will be marked sequentially in order to detect any overt collaboration.

Information:

There will be a full teaching session on 'Creating and Documenting a Small Enterprise Strategy' however, a basic format for such a business plan would involve these key elements::

• Introduction - business opportunity, idea, team and format

• Markets/Segmentation, Marketing Strategy, Product Demand, Price.

• Operations

• Finance - sources and scenario forecasts

• Risks and Reward - including exit plans
