Did I answer this question correctly and can you add more to my last statement with the parents: Will community corrections reduce recidivism? Why or why not? Community corrections can help lower the rate of recidivism, which is when someone commits a crime again after being punished. These programs are designed to help minor offenders change their negative behaviors. They focus on rehabilitation and positive change.

However, there's room for improvement in these programs. As Devon Starking mentioned in the video "Probation and Detention", the system needs to invest more time and effort. It's not enough to just put a young offender in a cell and consider the job done. If a young person doesn't know how to behave properly, they need guidance and support to learn. They can't figure it out on their own. So, to prevent recidivism, community corrections programs need to provide this guidance and support to help young offenders learn better behaviors. I also think the system needs to get parents on board. Parents also need to feel the pressure to help young offenders rehabilitate.
