The problem in a certain thermoforming operation is that there k too much thinning in the walls of the large cup-shaped part. The operation is conventional pressure thermoforming using a positive mold, and the plastic is an ABS sheet with an initial thickness of 3.2 mm.
(a) Why is thinning occurring in the walls of the cup?
(b) What changes could be made in the operation to correct the problem?
The geometry of the models being produced should be presented in the report (including neat hand sketches). Discuss and explain reasons for the selection of. The type of geometry used - i.e. 2D, 3D .etc
The density of 70.5 wt% aqueous perchloric acid is 1.67 g/mL. a. How many grams of solution are in 1.000 L? b. How many grams of HClO4 are in 1.000 L? c. How many moles of HClO4 are in 1.000 L?
1) The structure shown below is loaded by a load, P, which is co-linear with member 3. Find the components u1c, u2c of the displacement of the node C. All members have the properties E, I, and A. Ignore shear deformation. Note the hinge at node ..
A piston/cylinder contains 1 lbm water at 40 psia, 600 F, and it now cools to 280 F in an isobaric process. The heat goes into a heat engine that rejects heat to the ambient at 77 F, shown in Fig. P6.46, and the whole process is assumed reversible..
If the plant uses sodium hypochlorite instead, what volume of NaOCl will be needed? Assume that the dry density of NaOCl is 1.2 kg/L and that 1 mg/L of dissolved NaOCl is equivalent to 1 mg/L of dissolved Cl2.
The melting point of lead is 620 F, and the enthalpy change between the phases hif is 10.6 Btu/lbm. The specific heats are found in Table F.2 and F.3. Calculate the net entropy change for the lead.
A block with an inclination of 20 degrees has a weight of 60kg, a height of 1.8m and width 1m, static friction is 0.3, what is the force needed and the height (where the force in the box should be) to pish it upwards
Conditions at each point are (C indicates the concen-tration of carbon monoxide, CO):
Find the tangent plane for each surface - Write the total differential of the function P at the point, where the volume is 4L and the temperature is 300 K.
