I assume that there is about a 30% chance that weather will be bad and soybean yields will be 30 bushels per acre, a 55% chance that weather will be mg; and yields will be 40 bushels/acre, and a 20% chance that weather will be good and yields will be 55 bushels/acre. (These are subjective probabilities, not probabilities pulled directly from the CDF.) If the costs of producing an acre of soybeans are $200 and I expect price to be $8.00 a bushel, what is my expected value for net returns from an acre of soybeans? Show your work!
