Pick a side, and YES you must pick one. Who has the better system, Kant or Mill? Argue as strongly as you can for your thesis. In your argument, you must deal with *both* of the scenarios above.

1. If there is a murderer at the door looking for our best friend, and our best friend is hiding inside, can we lie to the murderer?

Kant: No. Lying is always wrong.
Mill: Yes. Lying is usually wrong, but if we are saving a great amount of suffering by doing so, then it becomes right.

2. If there is one person who is a perfect organ donor for five critically ill patients on the transplant list, can we sacrifice that one person to save five?

Kant: No. We can never use a person as an object to further our ends, even if those ends are noble.
Mill: Yes. The suffering we cause to that one person is more than made up for by the suffering we save, by saving five lives.
