Question

When company owners or executives commit white-collar crimes (e.g., embezzlement, insider trading, fraud, SARBOX violations), they are often personally indicted along with the company they work for. Companies cannot go to jail, but people can. Since white-collar crimes only harm people financially, rather than physically, some argue that the perpetrators should not go to jail. Others argue that they should go to jail even longer than, say, an armed robber, since white-collar crimes tend to have so many more victims than other crimes.

Using an ethical theory, argue for or against putting white-collar criminals in jail for stealing money from victims, even if the criminals have paid back all the money they stole.
