Problem

The nurse continues to care for baby Owen 6 hours after birth. Vital signs are Temperature 36.8 C (98.2° F), Heart rate 130/min, Respiratory rate 48/min, Oxygen Saturation 99% on room air. Cord blood results show that the newborn is Type A Rh negative. He has had several attempts at breastfeeding and continues to struggle with latch and falls asleep quickly during feedings.
