Tony Hayward, BP's spokesman at the beginning of the Gulf oil spill crisis is an example of a leader who did not frame effectively. Find an article about this topic. Now, pretend that you have taken over as BP's spokesperson and a new oil spill has developed in the Gulf that promises to be more devastating than the one in 2010. Develop your own brief statement to the press combining what you know about crisis communication and what you know about framing. For subsequent postings, help others by asking questions or offering suggestions to improve their statements.

Using either Schein's or Deal and Kennedy's model of organizational culture, develop a minimum of a detailed description of an organizational culture to which you belong. Be sure to give many examples to support your view. At the end of your description, include a discussion of what is missing from Schein or Deal and Kennedy's model and what you would include in a general model of organizational culture. For subsequent postings, comment on the cultures and models others have described-you might discuss how the culture logically could affect member behavior, tie in the theories we have discussed, or comment on how the modified model is or isn't an improvement.
