Question: Properly handling exceptions can keep us from writing programs that cause computers to crash. They also have plenty of other uses. Some of those uses depend on which stage of development our application is in. During development, applications often go through various stages of testing, including alpha and beta testing. Applications in these phases are often known as being in "TEST". Once an application has passed the majority of its tests, it moves into a "live" environment, which is known as "production" or "PROD". The types of messaging from exceptions in these different phases differs, and that's going to be the gist behind this week's discussion.

There are a few properties and behaviors that are all derived from the base Exception class. Of these, some of the more popular ones are Exception.Message, Exception.StackTrace, Exception.ToString(), and Exception.HResult. The book does not cover HResult, but I have covered it in my announcement for the week. If you're not sure what the HResult is or does, feel free to read that announcement over. For a second part of this week's initial post, what would we use these properties and behaviors for? Are there any of these properties/behaviors that we would NOT want to use in a public release of an application? Why or why not?
