We are also hoping to gain knowledge through technology as to how to provide treatment to individuals adequately. We will attempt to explain the different sources of digital interferences and how they impact what we consider a standard way of receiving treatment from clinical practice and services of psychology.

The participants will be asked to answer a three-question survey followed by a one-question survey at the end of the two-day two-part survey.

The study will be held on two mornings over a two-day class period at the beginning of the first semester on a Tuesday and Wednesday. The students and professors being interview and surveyed are all within the discipline of behavioral science, medical field, and information technology. The first day (Tuesday), will be used to interview participants between the ages of 25 and 75 and are female. They will be asked for a three-questions survey. Before the survey begins, the participants will be briefed as to why the survey is being conducted. The three questions will consist of using technology in psychology for therapy, learning, and or teaching. Once the participants have completed the survey, the surveys will be collected, transcribed, and collected. On the second day, the same three questions will be asked to students and professors between the ages of 25 and 75 who are male. At the conclusion of the data collection, member checking and data source triangulation will be used to check the validity of the transcriptions of information collected from all participants.

The two-day survey showed that within the 100 participants surveyed, eighty-six percent believe that technology allows for a more productive and enhanced relationship with their clients. Ten percent disagreed with the correlation between advancing technology and client relationship strengthening. Four percent were undecided. Those that disagreed and were undecided fell into the older generation bracket of those surveyed (61-75 years of age). The first part of the survey was to determine the number of participants that use technology in psychology for teaching, therapy, or learning. The second survey is to determine the number of participants that use applications, software, or none at all.
Multidimensional adaptive testing (MAT) was used by 25 participants to determine the classification decisions required for how technology was effective in psychology. The MAT results illustrate that there was-as could be expected-quite some diversity in the use of technology in psychology. The results from the one-dimensional adaptive testing (OAT) proved to be inconclusive. We tested our theory on 25 others and found that we received one-third fewer responses. Member Checking was conducted to assess the validity of the responses that were given by each participant. The answers were read and then re-read. All participants agreed to the transcriptions that were presented to them. We then used triangulation by one of the researchers who was not initially involved with the interviews to draw into a conflicted attempt to ease tension and facilitate communication.
