What would be a good response to this?
To begin, this speech given by Eisenhower started with a strong introduction. He firmly addresses everyone in the room with one simple sentence. For his body, it was broken down into many parts. The first part was talking about how great the United Nations was. That the United Nations brought many strengths to the table to helps support the "team" overall. Next, Eisenhower brought up the main topic that he wanted to talk about; Atomic Bombs. He talked how they caused massive damage when the United States used them and how horrific the damage was and will continue to be. After that, he spoke about exactly why atomic bombs are an issue and where we need to focus on this issue. Lastly for the body, he sheds light onto the situation by providing a prime solution of cutting the number of atomic bombs that they are in the world. Then for the conclusion, Eisenhower emphasized again on how important it is as everyone comes together to solve this problem. He makes it known that the United States does not wish to grow in power but to help grow world peace.
Overall, Dwight Eisenhower gave an outstanding speech. He spoke in a commanding tone but was not over beating with his voice volume. There was eye contact made with the United nations the entire time and the pace of the speech was perfect. Eisenhower did use words that might of not been known to the general public but he spoke in a way where you could understand them. There were great context clues to look for to understand what what going on. In the end, this was a very good speech and you could learn a lot by just looking and hearing what he had to say.
