Assignment:

Discuss the course of action that the consultant should take in ONE of the ethical scenarios described by Weston (2009) below. What types of ethical theories does Weston (2009) describe? To what extent are ethical duties and rights conditioned by the needs and goals of a particular community?

1. "An adult education consultant is asked to run a five-day workshop in an expensive resort, with his business airfares prepaid. The company requesting the event is a major international enterprise, well regarded in the corporate world, but the consultant disagrees strongly with the company's policies regarding labor hiring in developed countries. Frankly, however, his client list would be enhanced if he accepted the company's invitation". (Weston, 2009, p. 7)

2. "A planned community educational project involves spending a lot of money on the use of various new technologies, but you know that the intended client group will have difficulties in getting regular access to such equipment once the project has begun. You also believe that after initial funding has run out, there will be no money for continuous maintenance and updating of the technology. You think about walking away from the project on ethical grounds." (Weston, 2009, p. 7)
