Assignment:

A couple of items caught my attention in the Mihelic/Lipicnik/Tekavcic Ethical Leadership article:

The article goes on to identify suggestions on how to mitigate remaining silent: "Gentile suggests the following in order to confront the problem of not reporting unethical behaviour: Treat the conflict as a business matter; recognize that ethical dilemmas are a part of your job; be yourself, act authentically; challenge the rationalizations (challenge the so-called standard practices) turn newbie (new-comer) status into an asset; expose faulty thinking; make long-term risks more specific; present alternative solutions to unethical actions (Gentile, 2010)". (pg 35, emphasis added).

I emphasized the words challenge and expose because these are lofty aspirations when Protection of Self is in the mix (reserved for the whistle bower). What other strategies can you propose to mitigate employees remaining silent?
