Identify what you believe is the most serious social problem in your community.

Explain your choice - include in your discussion what makes it a social problem (i.e., versus social condition), what makes it a "serious social problem" (i.e., look at the subjective vs. the objective reality), and which of the sociological perspectives outlined in the textbook best fits your understanding of the social problem. Do social class, race, or ethnicity play a role in this problem?

Which of these are most essential to your identity and which of these reveals more about your life chances? Do any of these serve as social boundaries in your daily life?
