The diameter of gears produced by a milling machine follows a normal distribution with a mean of 25.03 mm and a standard deviation of 0.012 mm. If a gear has a diameter of less than 25.00 mm it is too small and needs to be scrapped. If a gear has a diameter more than 25.05 mm it is too large and needs to be scrapped.
