The issue could have a historical Connection or could be contemporaneous in focus. An analytical approach linking the past with the present will be highly commendable. The role of outstanding black personalities and their special contributions in promoting black culture, history and heritage should also be considered. Broader issues cutting across black politics, economic life and race relations could provide useful frameworks for a fuller appreciation of African American history and experience, in particular, and the African diaspora, in general.
