Case study.

You have been hired as the General Manager of a new business, one which manufactures bicycles.  Operations, Sales and Marketing will begin 1 Jan, 2015.   The owners of this highly competitive business have asked you to prepare a plan which would maximize employee efficiency and performance.

The owners received your plan to maximize efficiency and performance on November 1; now they are asking you to respond to the following four group of questions.

1. What is your leadership style?  Describe the organizational culture which will result from your leadership?

2. How will you resolve conflict in the organization?  Consider organizational power, politics and justice.

3. How will you design the organizational structure?  Present a structure and describe how that structure will support the strategy of the bicycle company.

4. How would you prepare for changes occurring in the general environment which would affect the bicycle company's business? Refer to the hammel book section 3.
