3) In a clinical trial for a new medical treatment, it is claimed that the probability of lethal side effects are less than 0.01%. The FDA is conducting the clinical trial to determine whether the treatment is safe enough to release to the market. The FDA will consider the treatment safe if there is evidence that claim above is true. Describe a Type I error and a Type II error for this scenario. Which of the two erros has more severe consequences?
