It is tempting to praise the benefits of CSR. After-all, who wouldn't want to help the community or environment? However, what is the primary purpose of a for-profit corporation? Using the concepts learned in the required readings, discuss whether a company should attempt to solve the world's problems, while at the same time working towards a profit for the shareholders.

1. Since spending money on community issues involves making profit, one cannot spend money on CSR if they do not have it, to what degree should corporations be regulated into supporting CSR efforts outside the company? 2. Social responsibility can come with a cost to a business because businesses have a tendency to internalize the costs of the actions of social responsibility and as a result their competitive position in relation to their business can be affected. Do you think a business like Walmart (social responsibility), would be able to solve the worlds problems so to speak and still work towards a profit due to their many resources and capital?
