Part 1: User Guide: Introduction: explanation

Financial year of 2007-2008 as a year of great financial crisis. As many economists term it, it was the worst financial crisis since the Great depression in the 1930's. In 2007, the year started off with a crisis in the subprime mortgage market in the United States which later developed into full blown international banking crisis with the collapse of investment bank. Lehman Brothers bank helped magnify the financial impact globally. Financial institutions and other monetary and fiscal policies were employed in order to give bail-outs and prevent the possible collapse of the world financial status. There was an economic downturn after the crisis. The European debt crisis followed later in the banking system of the European countries. After the aftermath, the Dodd-Frank Act was enacted in the United States in order to promote financial stability in the country. The Basel III capital and liquidity standards were adopted by other countries all over the world.

Mission Statement of this project

The mission and goal of this project is to promote rigorous, accurate and systematic assessment of the present degree of financial stability.This project aims at reducing cost and losses experienced during a financial crisis. It also helps identify and create buffers for any coming financial instability.

Part 2: Utility (Tools):

Different tools will be used for this prototype. They include;

D3.js - This is a JavaScript library for manipulating documents based on data. D3 helps an individual bring data to life using SVG, CSS and HTML. This tool emphasizes on web standards which gives an individual full capacity to use modern browsers without having to be tied to proprietary framework, combining powerful visualization components and having an approach that is data driven suitable for DOM manipulation.

D3.Js will be used for its functional purpose. Its main purpose on this prototype will be to transform data as the user sees fit. The D3.js data binding functionality will be used.

One will need to create a blank canvas, create a scale from the data array and use it to position rectangles in the canvas. The actual drawing section of this basic chart doesn't really use D3.js in any way. This tool should be used when your webpage is interacting with the data. It will be useful in this prototype project since it will allow buildup of the data visualization framework.

Firebase - This prototype will also have to use firebase which is a data storage platform that aids in quickly developing high quality apps and aids also in growing one's business. With the technology apps are becoming more useful since they are more potable and convenient. One needs to first create a firebase account and secondly, get the URL for the first app. From there your firebase can be added to your database which connects the firebase app to start. When the firebase is set up, one should open the datasets in order to establish a connection to Firebase. With Firebase, the key is a URL and the value is arbitrary data that could be a number, string, Boolean or object.
