The space shuttle prepares to depart the surface of the earth where the atmospheric pressure is 1 atmosphere. When the hatch door to the shuttle closes there is the same pressure on the inside of the shuttle as on the outside. The shuttle blasts off into space where there is no air (so the pressure outside the shuttle is zero). If the pressure inside the shuttle remains at 1 atmosphere, what is the force (in N) on the hatch door that tends to blow the hatch out of the shuttle? Presume that the hatch door has an area of 2 m2. After you get your answer in Newtons, convert it to pounds.
