Assignment:

Explain what the Exclusionary Rule is. What is it's purpose?

What is a motion to suppress evidence? Why is it particularly important to constitutional criminal procedure and criminal justice professionals? What does it have to do with the Exclusionary Rule?

Research and locate one court case that used the Exclusionary Rule to suppress evidence obtained by law enforcement. Discuss the facts of the case and the Court's ( judge's) rationale/reasoning for the suppression of the evidence. Do you agree or disagree with the Court's ruling? Why?

Finally, give (2) two reasons SUPPORTING the Exclusionary RULE and (2) two reasons AGAINST the Exclusionary Rule. (These can be out of your textbook or other sources or your opinions - think creatively!)
