I'm interested in seeing if there is a correlation between number of hours someone drives and the amount of fuel ( in gallons) that are left in the tank. I'm starting with a pilot test using data of 4 people. 1st person number of hours driving x=3 , gallons of fuel left y=4, 2nd person x=2,y=5 , 3rd person x=1,y=9 4th person x=6,y=2.

  1. What is the correlation coefficient for the data above ?What does it tell me about the relationship between hours of driving and the number of gallons in the tank?
  2. What are the least-squares regression line ?
  3. The least-squares regression line from question (2), what does it tell me about the predicted level of gas if I drove 5 hours?
