In a statistics class survey, students reported their heights in inches. The instructor entered the data into a computer file and used statistical software to find separate five-number summaries for men and women in the class.

In the five number summary for men, the minimum height was 17 inches, an obvious outlier. What is a possible reason for this outlier, and what should the instructor do about it?
