The most important things I noticed here were usability and accessibility. Their audience included those with perceptual and motor impairments which is great because they want to include everyone. They provided an option for feedback to improve their website. They focused on what their participants were most interested in and what they wanted. Utilizing the screen reader Jaws and the touch keyboard benefited the site. I noticed a lot of html coding that helped developed the sites needs as well.
For example when using hyperlinks, charts and creating format. The use of color scheme had an affect as well especially when dealing with a color blind audience. It is important to view the website the way various people are going to view which include people who are visually impaired, deaf, etc. When we have links on our website it is best to have it more descriptive for example.
If the audience is missing the required flash pug in or their JavaScript is disabled it is a good source to have a disclaimer and the ability to link to the download page for the Adobe flash plug in. Text-based transcripts for videos are another option for users needs.
This is a very detailed article that would most definitely help when creating a website that will allow a great use for our audiences so I am most definitely willing to go back to this when working with my team.
