It seems that in many migration stories, there are many push and pull factors for the group(s). Groups flee violence and war, religious and ethnic persecution, and economic and sustenance issues. With self in mind and or family in mind, they concluded that migrating was the only option for opportunity. Puritans seemed embroiled in these conditions.

Questions:

First came the Pilgrims, but it seems they are a caricature for Thanksgiving. The Puritans would be the group remembered for their actions. What was their reasoning for coming to America?
