5. What is the difference between prejudice and discrimination? What relationships exist between the two, as reflected in people's actual thoughts and behavior. Be specific.
Part B - Select one question in each group to answer.
A. Crime:
1. Discuss the accuracy of the Uniform Crime Reports. How does this help or hinder our knowledge of crime?
2. What do we know about who is likely to commit crime?
B. Sexual Deviance:
1. What reasons can be cited for the existence of prostitution? Why is it so difficult to eradicate?
2. Should discrimination against lesbians and gay men be illegal? Why or why not?
C. Alcohol & Other Drugs:
1. Discuss the effects of alcohol on the individual and society, and the reasons why it can be defined as a social problem.
2. In the U.S., Americans are much more tolerant of the use of alcohol than they are of the use of other drugs. Discuss the reasons for these attitudes.
