Lake Pleasant, AZ, has a surface area of approximately 2,000 ha. The inflow for the month of August is zero. The lake is dammed so that no water leaves the impoundment downstream of the dam. There is no rain in August. The evaporation is estimated to be 6.8 mm/d. and the seepage is estimated to be 0.01 mm/d. Assuming that the lake shore is vertical, estimate the distance the lake elevation drops during the month of August. What distance will the shoreline recede if the lake shore slope is 5°?
