Assignment

In this unit, you are to complete the sections 3.0 Purpose Statement and 4.0 Performance Standards of the SAWs for the human resources area and your declared functional area. Performance standards allow you to keep score, or provide control, for goal achievement.

Follow these steps to complete this project component:

1 Using the SAW for the human resources area that you started in the Project Goals and Activities assignment in Unit 2:

• Complete the section 3.0 Purpose Statement. Provide thoughtful answers to the four questions to arrive at your purpose statement for the human resources area.

• Complete the section 4.0 Performance Standards. Identify at least three performance standards that will be used to measure the performance standards of the human resources team. Provide a rationale for each identified performance standard.

2 Using the SAW for the declared functional area that you started in the Project Goals and Activities assignment in Unit 2:

• Complete the section 3.0 Purpose Statement. Provide thoughtful answers to the four questions to arrive at your purpose statement for your declared functional area.

• Complete the section 4.0 Performance Standards. Identify at least three performance standards that will be used to measure the performance of your declared functional area team. Provide a rationale for each identified performance standard.

3 Prepare a one-page reflection write up on the sections you just completed for the human resources area and your declared functional area, which addresses the following questions:

• How is establishing a purpose statement and performance standards important to being an effective manager?
• How does this section support the other sections of the SAW?
• What research was used to support your work? Use APA style and formatting to cite your sources.
