Xfinity is a subsidiary of the Comcast Corporation is a global media and technology company and it provides one of the nation’s largest cable video services to residential customers and businesses. Despite being the largest cable provider in the United States since 2001, Xfinity is rapidly losing its cable television subscribers due to the exploding growth of streaming video services, such as Hulu Live, DirecTV NOW, and Sling TV. The number of “cord cutters” has tripled in the last 5 years and current trends illustrate that the demand signal for these streaming services will continue to rise incrementally in the near-term future. Xfinity needs to implement a strategy to reduce customer defection and diminish annual profit declination in CY2018.
