With the help of some social supports and my therapist, I reframed it and challenged my cognitive distortions: I have many friends, I make it a point to go out with them, I have open and communicative relationships with all of my kids, I have my family and I won't be abandoned. The things I did to face it was get a divorce (one of the hardest things to do to overcome it) and to get therapy to process it.
