Research Project: Business Ethics
When doing business on an international scale, the concept of global business ethics may change dramatically. The economic, social, and technological infrastructures are all often concerns to consider. In this project you will demonstrate your understanding of ethical issues in global business due to economic and technological change. The expansion of international trade is leading to a global market. Therefore it is important that we understand the ramifications of ethical globalization. As the consultant, hired to resolve this concern, what advice would you present for continued success?
To begin this assignment, you will research and present an ethical dilemma of an international business.
• Give the name and brief history of the multinational corporation.
• Consider these factors:
o Who are the stakeholders?
o What is the dilemma in this situation and the root cause of the problem?
o Why is the dilemma occurring? Is this crisis due to the nation being developed or less developed?
o What are the social and ethical threats emerging from rapid technological or economical change?
o What is the impact of technological advances in production methods and labor demand?
o What are the limits of new product development and consumer use?
o What are the threats to common accepted beliefs challenged by new technology?
o Where has the impact of this unethical dilemma created the most damage and how can it be resolved?
• When will it be or how has the crisis been resolved? What steps are necessary to ensure this does not recur.
Now that you have completed the research, prepare a MS PowerPoint or Prezi (cloud based) presentation to submit online via the research project link. Be sure you include a title page, works cited page, and a minimum of 10/maximum of 15 slides. Use your creativity to organize and deliver the information.
